Former Rankin Police Chief Dies After Fight, Tasering at The Meadows
Darryl Briston got into a fight at The Meadows, was tasered and then went into cardiac arrest after being taken into custody.
Former Rankin police Chief Darryl Briston died Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack following an altercation with his estranged wife and her male companion in North Strabane Township.
KDKA-TV is reporting that a fight broke out Friday about 11:30 p.m. at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino in North Strabane. According to KDKA, when Briston saw his estranged wife with another man at the Meadows’ casino, he punched the man in the face.
Casino security called in other law enforcement agencies and ended up chasing Briston a distance before tasering him. He went into cardiac arrest while in custody.
