Judge to Seismic Testing Company: Relief Request 'Premature'

Washington County Judge Janet Moschetta Bell Wednesday denied a request from Dawson Geophysical for injunctive relief and an expedited hearing.

A seismic testing company's request for injunctive relief and an expedited hearing regarding utilizing Cecil Township roads was denied Wednesday.

Washington County Judge Janet Moschetta Bell on Wednesday referred to the request by Dawson Geophysical—a Texas company with an office in Southpointe that filed the request Friday—"premature."

The judge drew a line through the scheduling order, handwriting on it "denied—premature."

"The court will revisit the need and propriety of the requested relief sought by (Dawson) following a decision of the Cecil Township Board of Supervisors on the pending application to conduct seismic testing on township roadways," the order read.

Dawson had made application to the township to conduct testing a day before it filed for court relief.

Cecil's solicitor has said the township will hold the hearing prior to the board's regular monthly meeting held in August.

If would attend Cecil Twp meetings . You would know Range Resource has attend many meetings to discuss issues..They did a seismic testing demostration for those who wanted to attend. Seismic testing cannot damage the township roads. We should be voted the township with the most potholes.Cecil Township did not comply with a court order hearing with Range Resource and had to pay a fine. Has anyone seen the seismic testing ordinance for Cecil Twp?

Me - I believe it was Dawson that conducted the demonstrations to the township. For those who want to see the township's seismic testing ordinance in full, it is on the website. For your convenience I am also uploading a copy to the story. Click on the attached PFD to check it out.
