Local Food Drive Needs Your Support

Sen. Tim Solobay reminds you to support the Greater Washington County Food Bank with a donation.

Even as our local economy continues to grow faster than the rest of the state, there are still people struggling. It’s been my experience that those in this area who have been blessed with good fortune have been generous in helping others.

That’s why I’m asking you to support a food drive sponsored by the Washington County Farm Bureau in cooperation with the Greater Washington County Food Bank.

I’ve placed a collection box outside my Canonsburg district office for donations of non-perishable food.

Monetary donations will be accepted when sent directly to the food bank. Checks should be payable to the Greater Washington County Food Bank and “Farm Bureau” should be written in the notation field on the check.

Send monetary donations to:
The Greater Washington County Food Bank
1020 Route 519
Eighty Four, PA 15330

Update… Small Games Bill Signed Into Law

Last week, I mentioned House passage of a bill that will help local volunteer organizations earn more revenue from small games of chance. House Bill 169 was signed into law this week by Gov. Tom Corbett as Act 2 of 2012. For details on the bill, click here.
