Richard Rupar waived all charges to court Wednesday.
A former Canonsburg man will stand trial on charges he repeatedly sexually assaulted a young girl while she was in his care.
Richard Rupar, 60, whose current address was listed as being in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Wednesday waived charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors to court, Canonsburg police said.
The charges were originally filed by Canonsburg Police Department Nov. 28.
District Judge David Mark arraigned Rupar, remanded him to the Washington County Jail and set his bail at $100,000. He remains there.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim, now 23, went to the Washington County District Attorney’s Domestic Crimes unit on Nov. 20 after having disclosed to her boyfriend and family that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by Rupar.
She told police the alleged sexual assaults occurred between January 1993 and Dec. 30, 2003.
She said she was between 4 and 10 when the alleged crimes occurred.
