A Washington man is in the county jail for criminal attempt at homicide and other charges following a Christmas Eve incident.

North Strabane police charged Harry Orion Hibbs Jr., 51, who has a Washington address, with criminal attempt at homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of simple assault.

Online court records show Hibbs was arraigned Saturday before district Judge Ethan Ward and remanded to the Washington County Jail Sunday after failing to post a $500,000 bond.

North Strabane police were not immediately available Sunday for further information on what spurred the charges.
