Peters Township police are searching for a man who fled from the scene of a single-vehicle accident earlier this afternoon.
At approximately 1 p.m., witnesses reported to police they saw a vehicle crash, roll over and the operator flee on Churchill Road in the vicinity of Turkeyfoot Road in Venetia.
The male is described as in his mid-20s and Caucasian with dark hair. Police say he's either wearing a red or black shirt.
Witnesses told Peters police they do not think he's injured. It is believed he first fled onto the hillside between Churchill and Sagewood Drive. Police do not believe the vehicle was stolen, however, it is registered to a female.
There has been no burglary at the home of where the car is registered and no crime has been committed as far as they can tell, according to police.
Rather than "cause him further aggregation in his flight," police said they hope he comes to his senses and turns himself in soon.
The investigation continues. Check back with Patch for developing details.
