Range Resources, Corporate Bullies?
The Southpointe-based company and its spokesman were blasted by a Wallstreet website last week.

Marcellus Shale innovator Range Resources, based in Southpointe, was criticized by a Wall Street investment website last week for taking a "shock-and-awe approach to dealing with anyone who questions the safety of its fracking operations."
According to The Motley Fool story titled "Are Corporate Bullies Bad Investments?," Range Resources has "sued or intimidated activists, homeowners, and public officials, sometimes for little more than asking questions."
The website sites the company's suit against Robinson Township in Washington County, as well as other incidents.
"Range should pick on someone its own size," the website noted. "Naturally, the company calls this characterization unfair."
Although it was not mentioned in the story, Cecil Township was also put on notice that Range Resources was filing suit against the municipality. As of last week, township officials said they still had no idea what the basis of a lawsuit would be.
An email to Range Resources spokesman Matt Pitzarella seeking comment on the story was not immediately returned.

She's from Washington DC is their any proof she had spoke to anyone in our area or did she speak to anyone concerning what the law suite are about. We go to the meetings in Cecil and Robinson both we know what the law suites are really about this article has no weight whats so ever about what the problems we are having here. People get upset by EID and they actually have people in the area talking to people and attending meeting to get the full story.

Didn't say I was smarter this woman's expertise is in stock wouldn't dream of going to Washington DC and question her in that field. But when it comes to Cecil and Robinson township politics I am way smarter then her she doesn't live here or go to the meetings in this area and has no clue about our local politics

You would think a corporation that pays less than one percent in federal income tax (year 2010 came out to 0.54% on over a billion in profits) would be more friendly in dealing with business interests but I have to assume they feel entitled as they get special favors from the government (like low tax or no taxes and easily environmental regulation passed in 2006 that restricted oversight on the fracking operations). When people starts talking about entitlements with this current fiscal crisis remember the true entitled are these energy companies that are above our laws that regulate our air, water and land. Add to that their lack of contributions to our fiscal crisis both federally and in our commonwealth due to Corbett's policies on taxation of the Marcellus gas/oil.
