Stop Throwing Your Fracking Fish At Our Heads

State Rep. Jesse White talks about the new movie 'Promised Land' and shares information about best practices for Marcellus Shale drilling outlined in a new report—one he said the gas industry paid for.

A publication recently surfaced from Control Risks, a renowned British company hired by the natural gas industry to analyze the opposition to drilling by hydraulic fracturing around the world. Upon review, its analysis seems pretty objective and accurate.

The report distinguishes between those who ideologically oppose drilling and those who do not oppose the idea of drilling but simply want it to be done the safest way possible, which is the category I would put myself into.

What’s amazing is that the only two photos of active drilling operations in the entire report are right in our backyards, in Cecil and Chartiers Townships. Seeing my hometown in a worldwide publication really reinforced how much at the epicenter of the whole natural gas boom we really are.

The section titled “How Can Industry Respond?,” which is ironically on the same page as the photo of drilling operations in Cecil Township, is of particular interest. The report says the industry should target four key areas to improve its relations with stakeholders, and they deserve to be printed. Remember, this is an analysis prepared for the gas industry at their request by objective experts.

The report states, “First and foremost, the industry needs to acknowledge the legitimacy of local grievances. Denying the agency of local communities by blaming ‘fear’ and ‘hysteria’ is winning the industry—often an ‘outsider’—few friends. Acknowledging grievances would begin to repair its crippling trust deficit with local communities.”

In addition, the report recommends “Meaningful consultations with local stakeholders, instead of didactic ‘information sessions’ to market the presumed benefits of drilling, would help to identify potential points of tension to be addressed through both outreach and grievance mechanisms.” Sound familiar to anyone around here?

Next, the report recommends “a broad-spectrum political engagement strategy that is not overly dependent on cozy relationships with regulators, power-brokers and other narrow points of influence, which are easily tarred by general mistrust of central governments and are a source of political risk. In part, this means laying groundwork at the local level with municipal and provincial officials. Such local lobbying is expensive, but many companies have dedicated teams in the wake of legislative and regulatory changes giving more clout to local authorities.” Working with local governments in a positive way, you say? Hmmm … Go on.

Next, the report states “the industry needs to continue to make good faith efforts to reduce adverse impacts across the board. This means not only strengthening compliance, ensuring subcontractor performance and embracing new technologies, but also making conscientious project decisions regarding the siting of well pads, screening of light and noise, and routing of truckloads. This would entail absorbing increased mitigation costs, … but it would also reduce non-ideological objections to the industry.” Or in simple English, be a good neighbor instead of just claiming to be one.

Anything else?

“Finally, in addition to reducing the negative impacts of gas development, companies need to ensure the benefits are both tangible and as widely and fairly distributed as possible. For most communities, this means procuring as much as possible locally, providing jobs and training to local workers, paying required taxes, and—crucially—making long-term investments that deliver a sustained economic boost. The encompassing but diffuse benefits of lower gas prices are one thing; an industrial base that provides well-paid jobs for more than two or three years of drilling is a more concrete way to distribute the benefits of unconventional gas development.”

When it comes to maximizing local jobs, I couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately, when people like me ask questions about local hiring, we don’t get facts or statistics; we get snarky attacks, misdirection and ridicule. It would make sense if you were hiring all the local workers possible, you’d want people to know it, right?

But it seems as though there are way too many out-of-state license plates in the region to be able to prove we’re actually getting all the local jobs we can out of this industry, and our unemployment numbers comparable to the state average would suggest likewise.

But instead of following the professional advice it paid for, the tail wagging the dog of the gas industry has decided to double down on what hasn’t worked yet.

Last week the movie “Promised Land,” starring Matt Damon, opened nationwide. The film is set a small rural town in southwest Pennsylvania and deals with the issue of how the community should approach the issue of drilling for Marcellus Shale. I’m not going to give much commentary on the movie itself, because I believe people are smart enough to make their own decisions, especially since it’s a fictional movie and doesn’t pretend to be anything else.

Truthfully, I thought the film took a much more civil approach than some of the things I’ve seen, and the absence of groups such as lawyers or reporters in the film painted a somewhat incomplete picture of what’s been happening around here over the past eight years.

In any event, the movie is hardly the anti-drilling paranoia machine industry lobbyists would have you believe. In fact, the Marcellus Shale Coalition spent a whopping $30,000 on ads to run in local theaters showing “Promised Land,” which is not only an incredible waste of money but also insulting to local movie goers.

Can we seriously not go to the movies any more without getting their propaganda shoved down our throats?

I’ll go ahead and summarize what the intelligent people at Control Risks were trying to say in their 23-page report. It’s simple. Stop trying to tell us what to think every second of every day. If you’re doing the right things, you don’t need to go to such incredible lengths to convince people of anything; the results will be self-evident. At this point, the approach is turning off way more people than it is winning over.

Every day, more and more constituents come to me and say that as much as they favor the natural gas boom, they can’t stand the condescending way we’re being treated by much of the industry.

But if the report by Control Risks is too long or complicated, the gas industry can go back to the Chinese proverb that says instead of giving a man a fish to eat, it is better to teach a man how to be a fisherman. Show us your commitment to local communities, local jobs and best practices, or in other words, teach us to be fishermen—instead of forcing us to eat the fish you are constantly throwing at our heads.

The gas industry has the big money. They know the little guy cannot really take them on because they have an arsenal of lawyers to sue sue sue. Supervisors and commissionors vote yes to companies, fear of lawsuit? Beware of lawyers taking advantage of the already beleagured victims of gas drilling. Their agenda is not always to help but to get their piece of the promised pie.

If you want to endorse a movie lets give both sides yours is a movie made by actors in Hollywood for entertainment . On the other side how about a documentary where it is investigated and they talk to real people who are dealing with the gas industry and fracking. The documentary is called Frack Nation also made by Ann McElhinney an Irish journalists, Phelim Mcaleen Ireland investgative journalist, and Magda Segieda a investigator/reporter from Poland. Since these peeople are not from the United States this may make them believable since everyone in Pennsylavania who disagrees with some of your accusation are all wrong or has some kind of agenda. I agree with you we should all want safe drilling, but accidents will happen in every industry and they need to be held accountable not crucified.

Pro gas environmentalists believe it can be done safely but when there are accidents we believe that it can be cleaned up leaving little environmental impacts. We believe the facts when we read them whether we like it or not. We research every possibility of what could have caused any of these problems before we point the finger at anyone. We have lived in "The Real Promised Land". We don't believe fear mongerers and the such because they spew out lies in order to help their cause. Is that good enough Proud American. thank you again Donald Dimock Proud that was a great site. I don't like to see the land destroyed any more then the next person. Here in Cecil Township I have seen more wooded areas destroyed for housing plans then any gas well destroys, but that is progress. It also talked about how many jobs where created which a lot of people think this doesn't happen because they see a few out of state plates. Every industry has it own special trained workers for example drilling and they do travel some things do require their own trained workers. Go to a major highway projects and look at how many out of state plates you will see as well as the local companies. Is their room for one more Pro Gas Environmentalists would like to be a part of it and try and get the word out their.

Maybe they'll come back to the area. They can start making Duncan Miller Swans again. There's a lot of industries that use gas that could be lured to the area. That's what needs to be done now to provide jobs that will last into the future.

Natural gas fueling construction of new steel mills
Posted on: January 7th, 2013 by NoGreenSlime No Comments
Bloomberg News reports of five new mills being built or planned in the U.S., thanks to the use of natural gas to produce iron for 20 percent less than a traditional blast furnace. An analyst best sums up the advantage of the conversion to natural gas: “This is how steel will be built moving forward.”

If not endorsed why bring it up and I read the whole piece. Have you watched Frack Nation? Some one who is objective gives both side of an issue and I will give you an example GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION
a spill of 8000 gallons of fracking fluid at a site in Dimock, Pa., have contaminated groundwater in the Marcellus Shale region. But the idea stressed by fracking critics that deep-injected fluids will migrate into groundwater is mostly false. Basic geology prevents such contamination from starting below ground. A fracture caused by the drilling process would have to extend through the several thousand feet of rock that separate deep shale gas deposits from freshwater aquifers. According to geologist Gary Lash of the State University of New York at Fredonia, the intervening layers of rock have distinct mechanical properties that would prevent the fissures from expanding a mile or more toward the surface. It would be like stacking a dozen bricks on top of each other, he says, and expecting a crack in the bottom brick to extend all the way to the top one. What's more, the fracking fluid itself, thickened with additives, is too dense to ascend upward through such a channel.

Reply

proud American

10:47 pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2013

EPA officials are closely watching one place for evidence otherwise: tiny Pavillion, Wyo., a remote town of 160 where high levels of chemicals linked to fracking have been found in groundwater supplies. Pavillion's aquifer sits several hundred feet above the gas cache, far closer than aquifers atop other gas fields. If the investigation documents the first case of fracking fluid seeping into groundwater directly from gas wells, drillers may be forced to abandon shallow deposits—which wouldn't affect Marcellus wells. Accidents do happen in all industries and Rep White and I both agree we want safe drilling and when an accident happens they need to make thing right no matter what the cost.

A start was a meeting at Cecil Township with the Supervisors and even though Rep. White was so sure no questions would we answered their was a question and answer period and it was very informative never heard a positive statement by Rep. White about that. Would like to see more of this type of meetings in different areas for people in those areas where drilling may be taking place. Give me one reason why a company shouldn't defend themselves. Before you blame everything on he gas industry here is info on Benzene

Benzene is a major component of gasoline.
Benzene is used in the manufacturing of styrene, which is used to make Styrofoam and other plastics. These plastics are often used in food containers

What about the natural environment?
Benzene can occur naturally in the environment. It is emitted into the atmosphere by erupting volcanoes, from the smoke of forest fires and, interestingly, is also found in some plants and animals.
Benzene can quickly evaporate into the air and be carried over long distances.

Because benzene is found in petrol and oil, it can be released into the atmosphere by buses, cars, motorbikes, trains and aeroplanes. It can be emitted in exhaust fumes, and by evaporation of fuels from machinery, motors and petrol tanks.
Benzene is used in the manufacture of numerous chemicals needed to make plastics such as polystyrene for packaging, synthetic fibres, such as rayon and nylon used for making clothes, and the detergents we use to clean our homes. Medicines and pesticides can also be sources of benzene
Therefore, when we empty water from our sink after washing the dishes, or use chemicals to kill insects and weeds in the garden we could be releasing benzene into the environment

info on toluene
Toluene is used as a fuel additive to increase octane ratings and as a solvent in paints, paint thinners, adhesives, inks, resins, cleaning agents and inks. It is also used in the synthesis of many organic chemicals including benzene, phenol and xylene and as a raw material in the production of explosives. Toluene is used to manufacture polymers that are used to make nylon, plastic soda bottles, and polyurethanes and for pharmaceuticals, dyes and cosmetic products. Additionally, toluene has been used in the past as a treatment for hookworms and roundworms.
Toluene enters the environment when you use materials that contain it, such as paints, paint thinners, adhesives, fingernail polish, and gasoline. As you work with these materials, the toluene evaporates and becomes mixed with the air you breathe. Toluene enters surface water and groundwater (wells) from leaking underground storage tanks at gasoline stations and other facilities. Leaking underground storage tanks also contaminate the soil with toluene and other petroleum-product components.

proud American

You may be exposed to toluene from many sources, including drinking water, food, air, and consumer products. You may also be exposed to toluene through breathing the chemical in the workplace or during deliberate glue sniffing or solvent abuse. Automobile exhaust can also put toluene into the air. People who work with gasoline, kerosene, heating oil, paints, and lacquers are at the greatest risk of exposure. Printers are also exposed to toluene in the workplace. Because toluene is a common solvent and is found in many consumer products, you can be exposed to toluene at home and outdoors while using gasoline, nail polish, cosmetics, rubber cement, paints, paintbrush cleaners, stain removers

It takes two parties to work things out and both got off on the wrong foot right from the start. Range came to the Cecil Township"s meeting to try and mend a few fences which was a positive thing. Citizens got to answer questions even shared a few laughs the people from Range didn't have horns they addressed peoples concerns. But after all the trash talk about not letting people talk I didn't hear one thing from Rep. White that this was at less one step forward all we got is another negative story . There was a citizen their that had already had issue with Range and said it was handled in a more than fair way. Cecil solution is less talk and more sueing, I know people in Robinson Township, Washington country who are having the same issues with their conditional use ordinance they are not stopping drilling just making it impossible or at the less extremely difficult.

Cabot was painted in a very bad light by a few of the citizens and until other citizens got fed up over all the bad news and decide to fight back now you see a different side of Cabot. If you looked into the site about Dimock Proud you would also see the update about the people who started a lot of the issues. They recently sold their house and purchased a home that has a gas lease guess they are not so afraid of drilling and fracking after all. Maybe it is time for the citizens who have a positive realtionship with Range to start speaking up and getting both sides of the story out.

Mr. White claims he isn't against drilling but all his articles are negative. Like someone else posted what has he done for his area the only time you see him at a meeting is because it is to find fault with Range. If he would come more often he would see the people in Hills and Hendersonville has raw sewage running along the road side. People in Southview have a flooding problem why not use some of his influence to look for grants to help these people. They had an energy symposium at south Point this summer about what gas drilling was doing for the area ask why he didn't attend said he wasn't invited it was open to the public didn't need an invitation. Maybe he just didn't want to hear the good side of drilling.

You don't know what you are talking about. Plain and simple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They seperate the gases there before they send it market. A compressor station moves the gas from the well sites to that plant. I'm referring to the plant on Route 519 just south of Westland near the Paxton Farm.

If the guy is trying to point out how that can be done better, which he just might know about in his position as a public official who deals with this every day, why berate him? It makes no sense whatsoever.

By the way, I met with members of the Cecil Township Municipal Authority this week to discuss how we can help get funding for the sewage project in Lawrence, both for the Authority itself and for the people who will ultimately be the customers, which is in addition to the approximately $6,000,000 in grants I've helped bring in for Cecil sewage projects in the past six years. I'll be in Harrisburg for session on Tuesday, but I'm sending someone from my office to the public meeting to discuss how we will all be working together to try and make this project work in a way that will keep the costs as low as possible for the people.

But instead of asking me whether I'm doing anything on this project, some of the more, shall we say negative-minded commentators on this thread just attacked my job performance based upon a totally inaccurate assumption.

Again, I will discuss natural gas drilling issues with anyone who asks; just call my my office at 724-746-3677 to set up an appointment. I'm still waiting for the first call from one of my critics on this site...

First of all Rep. White represents all the people and he is another one who talks but doesn't answer. He says he is for gas drilling but he never shows that side of his argument and I'm not saying he shouldn't look at the other side of the story their are two sides. As an elected offical he should also be showing the good side of drilling. He is one of the people in the local communities that say I'm for drilling and then does nothing but bad mouth them. Maybe it is just Range because we don't hear him talk about any other drilling company. First he claims they are not hiring anyone local and that is not true even the Patch had an ad about the five places hiring and one of them had to do with drilling and Donald showed the magazine from South Point and look how many new companies that are connected with drilling I don't thing they are just empty buildings. He says they need better dialogue with the community and all he did was bash the meeting (they are not going to let you ask questions) and when they did their was no response not even this is a start. His questions where asked indirectly because the audience saw him walk out in the hall with one of Cecil's supervisors right before the meeting and it just so happens he was the one with the most questions and they where on the negative side just like Rep. White's talking points in his many negative articles about Range. Maybe it would help his case if he actually showed facts and not his beliefs or it could happen atitude.

I think one thing we all need to agree on is that the gas industry is here to stay whether we like it or not. They aren't going to undrill any of the wells they already have. And the industry has come a long way in becoming safer over the past few years. And they are still researching and implementing new ways to do it safely. A lot of people just don't understand the process and when you say words like chemicals when you talk about it causes a lot of fear. But at the same time I can understand people's concerns about that. But when they act radical and don't even try to hear what you tell them to try to dispell some of those fears it then becomes ridiculous.

First, the fracking done in 1947 is NOTHING like the fracking done for deep formations like Marcellus Shale; it's like saying a Model T Ford and a Ferrari are the same because they're both automobiles. That's a common industry talking point that is a straight up lie.

Second, interesting you mentioned AquaTech. Is Range using their MOVAP technology? NO THEY ARE NOT. Why? Because they don't want to pay the money to do things the right way when they can just dump water into those toxic waste dumps they call impoundments. Thanks for proving my point for me.

Prouder Amrican you are right you used the Model T Ford to represent fracking 1947 and the Ferrari to represent the present day. Now we all know how many safety devices our present day cars have on them and the same why with drilling. Drilling has to deal safety wise with state and federal departments and regulations as well as safety regulations from OSHA etc. Places like AquaTech is the future and if you watched the video they are working with drilling companies to make it practical to use and do you really think they would put this plant in Canonsburg if their wasn't a need for it if not today but in the near future. If we where a nation that used fear to stop advancement we would never had gotten to the Model T Ford stage we would still be horse and buggy stage and the horses harness would have blinders on to keep them from being frighten.
Donald this site is for you because you are interested in seening how thing work click launch and then each dot after that to see step by step how fracking is done.

I also know that my side of this issues is drilling and I am also calling for responsibile drilling , accidents do happen with all industries even with all the safety features in place and the company need to be held responsible. I also feel the Rep. White could help a lot of people with their fears about the industry by showing both sides. Rep. Rep. White posted a story from the Huffington Post Green (The Huffington Post was launched on May 9, 2005 as a liberal/left commentary outlet ) a confidential report obtained by the AP http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/16/epa-water-contamination-investigation-fracking_n_2484568.htmlUPDATE (1/16/2013, 3:39pm ET): The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has posted a version of the AP’s story, but with some additional details that the official Associated Press version neglected to include:

How did the AP characterize that portion of the story? By merely stating: “state regulators declared in March 2011 that Range Resources was not responsible” for the presence of methane in the Lipsky’s well. No discussion of the fingerprinting analysis – a process that was given attention with respect to Thyne’s paper, though, as if it were some new and never-before-used technique in this case – and certainly no mention of the hearing where experts presented scientific evidence disproving the link between Range’s operations and methane found in the water

Also of note: Range Resources is not part of the EPA’s hydraulic fracturing study. That begs a pretty important question: How could Range “pressure” the EPA to drop its endangerment order in exchange for participating in the study if Range is not, in fact, participating in the study
now people can read both sides and form their own opinion.

Reply

proud American

Texas Railroad Commission in 2011. At that hearing, which the EPA did not participate in, the agency's examiners found that the gas in Lipsky's well and other water wells in the area was "most likely" from a much shallower formation called the Strawn.
Examiner Gene Montes said geochemical fingerprinting analysis of the gas in the contaminated wells indicated that it likely came from the Strawn, and didn't match Barnett Shale gas. The three-member Railroad Commission in March 2011 ruled Range was not at fault.

methane gas is present all over the country but it is easier to blame Range and a DEP coverup to support a cause then it is to give both sides and let people read and research and make their own decision. Some I guess will find that the Texas Railroad Commission is now part of the cover up

Reply

Donald Roessler

9:45 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Here's a good article that gives an explanation of why these methane problems can occur from drilling. It is saying it can be caused from old abandoned wells from as far back as the late 1800's that are affected by new well drilling, when they cross paths, that is causing the old unplugged wells to release the methane into the ground water or even into homes. It also states that these old wells don't have to be disturbed to cause them to release methane. This happened about 15 to 20 years ago in 84, Pa. when a water well exploded and they found it to be from methane. They vented all the wells to the affected homes and I don't think anyone has had a problem since.

Donald you will get a good laugh out of this

Rachael Colley, EID Marcellus Field Director
Curt Coccodrilli, Landowner, NWPOA Member and Printer

Well, our opponents are at it again! They are using petroleum based and natural gas cured products to protest – you guessed it – natural gas. Our friends on the other side are selling T-shirts intended to send a message of opposition to hydraulic fracturing. There’s just one little problem. Natural gas from hydraulic fracturing is required to deliver it.

We are noticing something very interesting about our natural gas protestor friends; they don’t seem to know what they’re protesting. We have noted, several times on this blog, the hypocrisy of people such as Sean Lennon and his mom, Yoko Ono, who live in the comfort of homes heated with natural gas produced from hydraulic fracturing, while making sure to place themselves in front of cameras as they protest the source of that comfort.

What caught our attention this morning, however, was a new solicitation by the folks over at Deep Green Resistance. They are, between calls for destruction and mayhem, selling T-shirts with not so clever messages opposing what they, themselves, are using to deliver those messages.

Screen printed T-shirts are made using natural gas, you see, and the inks used make hydraulic fracturing fluid look like lemonade by comparison.

Proud American I saw that and it did make me laugh. And the way Prouder American acts on here with the twisting of our words and the insults to those of us
who question what Mr. White says just shows who's afraid of the truth and it's not us.
The truth for me is that I live next to a Range well site and there haven't been any problems from it. The anti's don't want anyone to be believe that it can and is being done safely. They believe that because of one case that is in court and hasn't been settled yet that the whole industry is bad. A case in my opinion that doesn't carry much weight because of the other factors of it such as those involved all live on or near an old junkyard. Another thing is that I know someone who lives near that well site and they agree that it is all a bunch of BS and their water never become polluted from it. I can't name them to protect their own privacy.
And here's the EID article you mentioned.

I am thinking like you do Donald one thing that bothers me about this situation in Texas is if I was so fearful for my families health why is the Lipsky family still their this has been going on since 2010. If I thought their was something going on where I live and it was affecting my families health I would have left even if I had to live in my car . Do they value a piece of property over the families health?

One thing that was mentioned is that the water in that area has had methane in it for years before they started drilling. One water well went up in flames there years before they started drilling. Just like what happened in 84, Pa. years ago. They also had the methane problem in Dimock, Pa. for years before they started drilling. And all that needs to be done to correct it is to install a vent on the water well. I would recommend myself that everyone who has a water well no matter where you live install a vent on it now. Don't wait for it to blow up then fix it.

Here's another good EID article that is relevant to the conversation. I like the part where he talks about people coming to his farm and asking where all the destruction is and he tells them that they are looking right at it. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count on how many times this has happened to me. I had people ask me where the well site was when the drill rig was here because they were not educated about it. When I told them that they are looking at it they got a confused look on their face.

Here's the latest news in the Observer Reporter. IGS energy is going to start building CNG fueling stations along Interstate 79 in West Virginia. They are also looking at a similar network in Ohio and Pennsylvania. If we get the infrstucture in place it won't be long before we can use it to power our automobiles.

Amanda I agree with Donald if it is wrong for me and Donald to exchange thought on this site for and against drilling shut the comments down. Since the movie was about anti fracking I didn't think showing our side was wrong. With a debate there will always be two sides that is what makes a debate and the last few comments was just Donald and I communicating not attacking Prouder American at all. If i broke a rule I will apologize to you Amanda but not for what I atand for. Have a nice weekend

I didn't insult them. I just said if these two want to swap gas industry propaganda from garbage sites like Energy In Depth and then needlessly compliment one another, perhaps they should just email one another instead of blowing up this site. But I do find it interesting that these two have no problem tossing around insults and hate, but get hypersensitive any time they think they are being criticized in any way. Typical gas industry self-victimization.

I'll think about starting a blog but it will still bring nonsense from Prouder American who doesn't bring anything to the debate. And I apologize to you Amanda if you think I'm trying to be a trouble maker but all I'm trying to do is educate people and show them there is 2 sides to every story. I can dish out trouble though when it is given to me.

Don't have any leases with the oil company they are not drilling a lot in Cecil Township may never have one but I'm a pro gas enviromentalist thanks to you and wouldn't back anything I felt would harm the land . But this conversation has shown what tactics the anti's will resort to and one of the last attacks seems to have been an attack on our freedom of speech. Apparently if they don't like what we say they try to shut us up. And you saw that happen in the videos of the Yoko Ono tour.

Another one you might be interested in Globetrottermom is called Truthland. It is an independant film shot by a woman who wanted to learn about the drilling before they drilled on her farm. I started to watch it but only saw the first couple minutes. It sounds like it is good.It is on the web and here's a link where you can see it.

A lot more people need to be made aware of what the anti movement is doing because
(1) This natural gas could mean energy independance from foreign oil.
(2) The anti's refer to Washington County in a lot their rhetoric.
And
(3) Jesse White is referred to by them a lot and they worship him as a hero because of the lawsuits.
Washington County is an "industrialized wasteland" according to them. I didn't know how big this issue was myself until I started looking at that lawsuit. That's what got me started on all this. The more I dug the more I learned. And I'm not liking what I'm learning about the anti's. Now we have Yoko Ono of all people getting involved in this. What makes her an expert on this?? ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!!!!! Not only are these people uneducated but they lie and are rude and vulgar !!!!! And the best part of all is that they use the very natural gas that they don't want us to drill for.

Watched the movie and what I liked about it and trusted was the fact this is an everyday person with a family that wanted answers. She didn't go to a movie to get answers she went to people, experts in different fields and talked to them face to face. People can be for clean air and water and enviroment in general and still be pro gas we are not blinded by our side of the issue we continue to look at both side and weigh the issues. The anti groups rely on people looking to them for their only answers and don't like being questioned and if their are they try to shut people up. As far as Senator Solobay being listed in the wrong state that could have happened anywhere and it needs to be corrected so none of the anti gas people find a way to use it.

Got the info in the OR this morning, I don't see a problem with all chemicals found in a well being listed. The report ahould also state a list of the chemicals that the drilling companies is using in the area of these wells. Range Resources volunteered a list of the chemicals http://www.rangeresources.com/getdoc/50e3bc03-3bf6-4517-a29b-e2b8ef0afe4f/Well-Completion-Reports.aspx. This would stop many law suites because a lot of people when a chemical show up in their well will automatically assume it has to come from drilling and lawyers are none to happy to take their case. Personally I would have my own test done along with the DEP test better to be educated then to follow what someone wants you to believe.
