According to Business News Daily, just 75-percent of consumers will spend all the money on their gift cards this year.
85-percent of the U.S. population will give gift cards, with sales projected to pass the $110 billion mark, according to a survey by the advisory company CEB TowerGroup.

I have a very large stack of them. Of all the ones given me over the years, some for tips after services performed, I have only cashed in one or two.
Gift cards: Great revenue generator for business -- income, with no delivery of goods or services.

People with gift card they don't use should try website like http://cardnap.com/ to actually resell them, really efficient and it'll save some of those 1,7 billions, man that's crazy such a waste!

This was a few years ago, I was at a convention in Pittsburgh and I can't remember the name of the place off-hand, (I will ask my friend that was there with me and get back to you all). But, people would donate gift cards and it went for a good cause/charity. We threw a party at school where people would get "carded" and we raised like over $500 in gift cards.
