Venetia Man Headed to Trial on Criminal Trespass, Other Charges
Also on Tuesday: District Judge Jay Weller released him from Washington County Jail on his own recognizance.
A Venetia man who was jailed on criminal trespass and other charges after allegedly entering a North Strabane home uninvited last month waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
District Judge Jay Weller also changed his bail. While it had been set at $25,000, Weller on Tuesday released Robert Cole, 26, on his own recognizance, according to online court records.
North Strabane police also had charged Cole, with loitering and prowling at night, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, online court records indicate.
According to the Observer-Reporter, Cole allegedly told residents at a township home that he was being chased by person with a gun. When the family called police, the newspaper indicated that Cole then allegedly ran out the door, and was later found trying to hide in a nearby convenience store parking lot. He then reportedly tried to run from police but was arrested.
