Quoting, "...according to His mercy He saved us ... that being justified by His grace ...." This passage makes clear that salvation is not based on our works. Nothing we do, can do, or will do in terms of behavior or actions will bring us to salvation. God is the active agent in the salvation, not man. Only by His mercy, His grace. Important parts of the truths of the gospel are contained in these verses.

Roger, thank you again for your great contribution. You're correct that there is nothing that mankind can do to save themself. It is only from the grace and love of God that He provided us a path to salvation. That path is our belief that Christ died on the cross for our sins and He was raised from the dead and ascended to Heaven. Again, thank you Roger.
