The DEP annouced yesterday that it will start a study of Radioactivity from Marcellus drilling.

 Before we go into a panic over it take note of the following quote from their website article listed below:

  "DEP routinely reviews radioactivity data in wastes the oil and natural gas
industry and other industries generate, and the information the agency has
obtained to date indicates very low levels of natural radioactivity."

Low levels of Radiation are around us everyday as Televisions, Microwave Ovens, and Cell Phones are said to give it off.

It is expected that it will take 12 to 14 months to finish the study and it's results will be posted on their website.
