I'm Dreaming of an Old-Fashioned Christmas

Yes, some liberties have been taken with the lyrics of Bing Crosby's classic song, but a bit of leeway is requested.

With flurries in the forecast, it's hard not to get at least a little excited about the upcoming holiday.

The current month is nearing its end, and tradition has it that Canonsburg celebrates an Old Fashioned Christmas on the first Saturday of December (some photos from last year can be found here: 2011).

The celebration will be held in the downtown area and includes fire department tours, hay rides and train rides—and hot chocolate at H&R Block.

The Frank Sarris Public Library is, once again, taking part in the festivities ... it's here that you will find Christmas craftmaking at the library from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and here, too, you can come in to warm up and enjoy a noon-time performance by the Canonsburg Middle School Chorus.

Editor's Note: Check back for a feature story on Canonsburg's holiday festivities later this week!
