The week may already be half over, but there's much yet to come at the Frank Sarris Public Library during the next few days! Everyone is welcome to join the Friends of the Library tonight for their monthly meeting...They get together on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to plan future fundraisers and discuss how they can best support the library.
Thursday offers several options for you. Because Canon-McMillan's graduation ceremony was last week, both the Mystery Book Club and the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club will be meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Sweetheart, the sequel to Chelsea Cain's Heartsick, will be discussed by the mystery-lovers and the sci-fi fans will be talking about Friday by Robert Heinlein. Thursday evening (6-8:00 p.m.) is also when the library will be celebrating its first anniversary and we hope you'll join the party!
Of course, the fun doesn't stop when the weekend arrives...there's more to do on Saturday. If your child is too young for the Summer Reading Club, he or she can be part of the Lil' Fireflies program! This is a summer reading club for children up to 5 years old, and it will offer songs, books and crafts on select Saturdays at 11 a.m. Also on Saturday, Father's Day will be celebrated in the Children's Department. Stop in between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for the make-and-take craft, and while you're there, check out a few books from the display - they feature Dad as the focus!
