Yes, the temperatures have been on the warm side lately, but we at the Frank Sarris Public Library are ready and willing to make these summer days a little more tolerable.
First, let me state the obvious...We have air conditioning! Believe it or not, that statement alone gathered the largest number of "likes" we've ever had for a comment on the library's Facebook page.
Only slightly less obvious is the program coming up on Thursday, July 5 - it's cool! We hope that you've already registered to be part of the author talk and book signing, but if not, well, it's possible that we can squeeze in an extra chair or two...Feel free to stop in and see what's going on.
Then we come to the "mind over matter" thing...Being a library, we have books with all sorts of titles and a variety of settings. You can transport yourself (mentally) to the arctic with the help of Hugh Montgomery, spend some time on Cold Mountain, or envision Snow Falling on Cedars. Or, if you'd rather, why not give Polar Shift (Cussler) or The Polar Express (Van Allsburg) a try?
There you have it, a variety of ways you can get cool, take part in something cool, or simply think cool thoughts.
