The Canonsburg Borough building is the center of the community's day-to-day activities. It houses many of the borough offices, including the office of the manager and mayor. The current borough manager is Terry Hazlett.

Canonsburg's governing body, a nine-member council, meets twice a month to conduct business. On the first Monday of the month, the council meets in a workshop meeting to discuss matters that have come before the board. On the second Monday, the council holds a legislative meeting where it votes on those matters.
