Fishing Derby, Free Movie in the Park Slated in North Strabane
The derby will be held Saturday at Canonsburg Lake, and the movie will be shown Sunday at Municipal Park.
Looking for a little family fun this weekend?
Look no further than North Strabane Township, which is hosting both a fishing derby and free movie night at the park.
The fishing derby will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Canonsburg Lake.
Organizers remind those wishing to attend that they need only bring their fishing poles, because bait will be provided.
There will be contests for the smallest and biggest fish caught—and another for the most number of fish caught. A casting competition will also be held.
Prizes will be awarded by age group.
While pre-registration isn't required, it is suggested.

A movie night will also be held Sunday at Municipal Park.
The movie being shown is "Racing Stripes."
The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and free popcorn will also be offered.
