Five Things You Need to Know This Week

Busy week. Here are five things you need to know:

1. The North Strabane Township Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the municipal building. Supervisors are expected to take action on a possible Marcellus Shale gas lease. For more information on that voting item, click here.Β

2. The Canonsburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Summer Night Series concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Town Park Pool. Admission is $3.

3. Not One More Pittsburgh will hold a vigil from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Cecil Park. The purpose of the vigil will be to educate the public about the heroin epidemic. Organizers ask that those attending bring a blanket or lawn chair. For more information on the event, check out our story here.

4. Friends of the Frank Sarris Public Library will meet at 7 p.m. in the library. For more information on events happening at the library, click here.

5. The Cecil Township Parks and Recreation Department will host a movie night at the township park at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Families are invited to watch a viewing of the movie "Brave." The concession stand will be open, and all proceeds benefit the parks and recreation board.
