Holiday Time: What's Closed, What's Open?

It’s Christmas Eve and there is the inevitable question—what’s open?

The better question might be, what’s closed?

Remember that municipal offices are closed both today and tomorrow to celebrate the holiday.

Mail? Most mail processing centers will close early today and be closed for the holiday tomorrow.

State and federal offices will also be closed for the holiday—as will state Department of Transportation licensing centers.

But if you forget a last-minute ingredient or a refill for your prescription, Walgreens in Canonsburg will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve (pharmacy hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with Christmas hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (but the pharmacy is closed).

The Rite Aid in Canonsburg will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. The store is closed Christmas Day.

Also open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve is the Shop n Save in Canonsburg. The store is closed Christmas Day.
