It’s Official—Gladys Knight to Appear at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino

The eight-time Grammy award winner will perform at the North Strabane venue next month.

Originally labeled as a “special guest,” The Meadows Racetrack & Casino announced that Gladys Knight will perform along with The O’Jays on June 29.

Known as the “Empress of Soul”—and an eight-time Grammy Award winner—Knight is sure to offer a memorable evening for guests at the North Strabane venue by performing many of her hits from her 38 albums recorded over a 50-year span.

Knight began performing gospel music at age 4 and began her singing career with Gladys Knight & The Pips in 1960.

Chart-breaking hits such as "Every Beat of My Heart," "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," "Best Thing to Ever Happen to Me" and the number-one smash "Midnight Train to Georgia" established Gladys Knight & The Pips as the premiere pop/R&B vocal ensemble in the world.

In 1995, Knight earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the following year, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Meadows concert series has become a popular venue for visitors throughout the Tri-state area, incorporating the grandstand and racetrack area of the world-class entertainment destination.

Tickets for the Gladys Knight and The O’Jays concert can be purchased at ticketmaster.com by calling 1-800-745-3000 and at participating Giant Eagle locations.
