Sixth Annual Symphony of Food, Chefs’ Showcase Dinner Upcoming

Every dollar raised from the event will stay in western Pennsylvania and help women and children in need.

The Sixth Annual Symphony of Food, Chefs’ Showcase Dinner, sponsored by WOMEN of Southwestern PA, Inc., is this Friday, Jan. 25, at the Bella Sera Venue located at 414 Morganza Rd. in Canonsburg.

The event has been a sellout for five years.

Five chefs will each prepare one of his signature courses. Chef John Gruver of Giant Eagle’s Market District will provide the appetizers; along with Kevin Sousa, Salt of the Earth; Matthew Helon, Center Place; Giuseppe DiGristina, Bella Sera Venue; and Al Collins of Al an’ Ruben’s.

Each chef comes with a litany of fine-dining successes and the recipe for a fun-filled, palate-pleasing evening concluding with a Sarris Candies treat. There will also be a Chinese auction, with baskets ranging from $200 to $1,200 in value.

Entertainment for the evening will be a combination of the South City Jazz Band and Howard Mincone, physical comic and juggler.

The master of ceremonies is WTAE’s Sally Wiggin.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $100.00—which is a tax-deductible, non-refundable donation. Reservations are required. For tickets, call 724-514-7176.  For additional event information go to www.womenofswpa.org.
