Voting Closed for Canonsburg's Pop Music Hall of Fame

Here's what comes next.

Public voting for the inaugural inductees into America’s Pop Music Hall of Fame to be located in Canonsburg is now closed, committee member Terry Hazlett announced.

He said the Hall of Fame committee is currently using the results of the public voting as a guideline to choosing the first class of inductees.

Hazlett said the public vote will carry “significant weight” with the selection committee.

“Pop music has always been the music of the populace—that’s how it became known as pop music. So it’s certainly fitting that the public should have a major say in who is inducted,” he said.

Hazlett added that the committee is also looking as the "breadth, depth, quality and impact of the music released by the nominees."

The announcement of the final selections is expected sometime next month, with induction in early July, according to Hazlett.
