White Chocolate Sculpture by 'Burgh Artist, Sarris Candies, Makes Gallery Debut

The piece of chocolate art can be seen by appointment.

When it comes to sculptures, who needs marble when you have white chocolate?

Not Heather Joy Puskarich.

The Dallas, Texas-born artist transported recently fashioning her own body out of a white chocolate coating—a confection that was specifically developed for her project by Canonsburg's own Sarris Candies.

The sculpture was created by first taking an impression of Puskarich’s body to create a mould. After filling, cooling and unmolding, she used her sculpting expertise to add detail, texture and the necessary refinements that resulted in this 350-pound masterpiece, which was on display at Fosdick-Nelson Gallery.

Sarris Candies' specially formulated white chocolate coating gave the sculpture its signature marble appearance.
