The Pennsylvania State Police in Washington will be participating in National Child Passenger Safety Week, which runs through Saturday. Also, Saturday has been designated as National Seat Check Saturday.
This means any parents who want to have their child restraint checked for recalls and learn how to properly secure the seat are encouraged to participate.
Certified Child Restraint Technicians from the Pennsylvania State Police, South Strabane Township Police and AAA will be available to assist.
“Traffic crashes are among the leading causes of death in Pennsylvania. Educating the public about the proper use of child safety seats in motor vehicles plays an important role in saving lives,” state police said in a release.
