Flood Warning Issued for Washington County

First it was snow. Then it was rain. Then it was high winds. Now Washington County is being warned about possible flooding.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning just after 10 a.m. Thursday.

"Heavy rains on Wednesday have results in rises on all area rivers," the NWS indicated on its website.

And the website reiterated: Don't drive through flooded areas. It's not safe.

The warning is expected to last through Friday morning.

What else is in store?

Today there is a chance of snow showers, mainly before 2 p.m. It is expected to be cloudy, with a high near 30. It will be breezy, with a west wind around 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent, with a total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch expected.

Tonight, there is also a chance of snow showers, mainly after 9 p.m. It will be cloudy, with a low around 12. A west wind of 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph are also expected. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent, with new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible, the NWS reported.

Friday morning there will be a slight chance of snow showers before 2 p.m. It is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. The wind chill will make it feel like it is -3. A west wind around 17 mph is expected. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
