Why Go?: The Washington Wild Things will honor long time center fielder Chris Sidick during their game against the Evansville Otters. Sidick, who was recently names Young Entrepreneur of the Year, grew up in Cecil Township and graduated from Canon McMillan High School. He owns C-Side Sports Academy in Canonsburg.

Why Go: You don’t have to wait for school to start to take your school portrait! Come to i.Simon during the month of August to have your kids school picture taken and see it before you buy it! The studio will donate 20 percent of your purchase to the school or school organization of your choice!

Why Go?: Little Lake Theatre presents "The Love List." The ideal woman arrives when Leon signs his best friend up for the Got A Match Dating Service. After all the two men have listed the top 10 qualities Bill most desires in a woman. What could go wrong?

Why Go?: The Cecil Township VFC #3 Annual Fireman's Carnival features rides, games, refreshments and great food each night! The carnival runs from Aug. 1-6.  BOB FM 96.9 will do a live broadcast on Aug. 5 from 8-10 p.m. The Fireman's Parade will take place on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.

Why Go?: This charity event is to help raise money for the family of Jameson McKain. . The charity event features an auction, face painting, caricatures, a cornhole tournament and more! Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish or dessert, and hotdogs will be served.


Where?/When?:  The Home Depot in Washington, Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Why Go?: Children ages 5 through 12 will make a pencil box at Home Depot's FREE How-to Workshop.

Where?/When?: Shop ‘n Save in Bridgeville, Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go?: The South Fayette Shop 'n Save will be hosting a Pirates Rally Day for the local community. The event will be held in the lot next to the store and is a rally to support the Pirates.  The event will feature a fast pitch cage where kids can have their pitches clocked with a radar gun and a cage where kids can hit balls. Shop 'n Save will be providing ball park food to all in attendance. There will also be games and prizes including Pirates tickets and memorabilia. Kids are invited to wear their uniforms and bring along their entire team.

Where?/When?: Thomas Presbyterian Church, 3-7 p.m.,  Saturday

Why Go?: The Thomas Presbyterian Church Summerfest features a pig roast, corn boil, entertainment, games and more! The Pirate Parrot will make a guest appearance from 3 to 4 p.m.!

Why Go?: Rockin' Rowles is a benefit event for wounded police officer James Kuzak. John Vento, the lead singer for The Nieds Hotel Band & Friends will be this year's entertainment! He is bringing a four-piece band that will play percussion and acoustic music ranging from the 50s to today, along with his original tunes. The entertainment will be from 8 p.m. to approximately 11 p.m. Beer will be included. If you'd like to bring wine or alcohol, please do. Along with entertainment there will be a 50/50 raffle.

Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 at the door.


Where?/When?: , Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go?: Come cheer on Pittsburgh’s professional soccer team! The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will play against Charlotte Eagles.
