It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Where/When: , 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday

Why Go?: Come experience this delicious romantic comedy at Little Lake Theatre! Pledging never to marry, the mischievous and beguiling Miss Emma Woodhouse, nevertheless believes herself to be the “matchmaker of Highbury.” As she puzzles and blunders her way through romantic mysteries of the heart, the audience meets a cast of unforgettable characters in a tale that captures Jane Austen's mastery of wit, irony and wisdom. Perfect end of summer entertainment!

Where?/When?: Firehouse Subs, 10:30 a.m. Friday

Why Go?: Come out for the grand opening of the first Pittsburgh Firehouse Subs! There will be a special appearance by Steelers WR Antionio Brown from 12 to 1 p.m. .

Where?/When?:  Home Depot, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday

Why Go?: The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons and an achievement pin. This week's project is an ESPN Game Day Board.

Where/When:  , 9:30 a.m. Saturday

Why Go?: The Women of Calvary Full Gospel Church will hold a Women's Walk & Talk at Farmhouse Coffee. The walk will take place on Montour Trail. The walkers will meet at 9:30 a.m on the front porch of the coffee shop. The talk will begin at 10:30 a.m. for those who would like to hang out.

Where/When: Michaels, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Grandparents Day is on Sept. 11. Ages 3 and older can wish grandparents a joyous day with a handmade card. This is a free make-it, take-it event while supplies last.

Where/When: , 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: All are invited to learn more about the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company at this Open House. Fall classes start on Tuesday at the company.

Where/When: Michaels, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

Why Go?: Celebrate Grandparent's Day with a personalized frame. This year, Grandparents Day is on Sept. 11. Ages 3 and older can participate in this make-it, take-it event while supplies last.

Where?/When?: South Park, Saturday to Monday, 12 p.m. start time

Why Go?: Bring the entire family to savor great tastes as teams of cooks battle it out for the best ribs and chicken wings available anywhere. This Labor Day weekend-long event also includes live concerts by a terrific selection of local bands, craft booths, petting zoo, pony rides, beer garden, children's area and even a sports zone. The band Everclear will perform on Friday followed by War on Saturday. On the last day of festivities Molly Hatchet will perform.

Where/When: , 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday

Why Go?: Family Fun Fest will feature food, crafts, games, music and more! This event is fun for all ages and benefits the Washington Area Humane Society.

Pricing: $1/adult (12 and older) and kids are free.

Where?/When?: Washington Park, 8:45 a.m. Monday

Why Go?: The Labor Day 5K Classic is on a point-to-point certified USA Track and Field course that begins at the Stone Pavilion in Washington Park and ends at Pathways of SWPA building on Jefferson Avenue. This is not an out and back course. Bus transportation is provided from Pathways of Southwestern PA building to race start from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. There will be no parking available at the starting line at the Stone Pavilion. There will be awards, refreshments, and random prizes posted at the awards ceremony at the Pathways of South Western PA building on Jefferson Ave. Click here to register.
