It might not be a white Christmas, but it could be a snowy day after.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through Thursday morning.
As much as 5 inches of snow accumulation is possible—with the white stuff falling at a rate of an inch an hour or more, according to the NWS website.
"Snow will develop by mid-morning. A period of very heavy snow is likely from mid-morning into early this afternoon. Precipitation will taper to very light snow or freezing drizzle this evening," according to the weather statement.
Drivers are reminded that the potential snow storm could cause hazardous travel conditions.
