Winter Weather Advisory: 4-6 Inches of Snow Possible

The national weather service says the most intense snow will be Friday afternoon and evening.

The national weather service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory for most of western Pennsylvania, including Allegheny County, from 10 a.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.

Forecasters say 4-6 inches of snow is possible.

  • Friday: Snow, mainly after noon. High near 20. East wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Friday Night: Snow, mainly before 1 a.m. Low around 16. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday: A chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 26. Light west wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
