Celtic Thunder storms to the Benedum Center with 'Mythology' Tour

Can’t afford that trip to Ireland? Let Celtic Thunder take you there when they bring their phenomenal “Mythology Tour” to the Benedum Center October 6!

“We do classics with a Celtic Thunder spin,” said Emmet Cahill. “We take people to Ireland for two hours.”

Celtic Thunder is an award-winning Irish group that puts a spin on traditional Celtic music,  classics and pop pieces. Their fan base spans across generations and the shows are often considered very family friendly. The six-man ensemble is a delightful array of melodies and voices easy on the eyes and ears. Comprised of Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson, Emmet Cahill, Neil Bryne and Colm Keegan, Celtic Thunder celebrates the Celtic heritage with their loves, attitudes, individually, power and strength.

“Celtic Thunder is a very unique show,” said Cahill. “It’s not just a regular concert. It appeals to the whole family.”

Creating a unique performance, a Celtic Thunder show is unlike other concerts. There will be solos, duo, trios and group performances. Each song is hand crafted to allow for the right mix of voices to create the perfect sound and harmony.

“The thing with Celtic Thunder is we get to both with a band and solo as well,” said Cahill. “Celtic Thunder is constantly full of surprises. Come with an open mind. No matter who you are, you’ll find something to enjoy in the music.”

Bringing their new show, “Mythology,” Celtic Thunder is breaking away from their norm to bring an new production to Pittsburgh featuring a wide variety of instruments, and an eight-piece Celtic Thunder Band. Featuring songs like “Danny Boy” and “The Rocky Road to Dublin” are what make this production very special to fans everywhere. 

“The new show is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” said Emmet. “Visually, so much is going on. People are responding well. It’s one of the best shows we’ve ever done.”
