“It’s easy to catalyze someone towards a change, but if they don’t have the proper information then their actions will be at best ineffective and at worst, destructive, thereby setting someone back emotionally as well as physically,” said Michaels.

The two hour show will focus on redefining self image and enhancing confidence and self-worth, a common problem among many who try to lose weight and change lifestyles. This concept is a focus on the “The Biggest Loser” show where many views may consider Michaels tough, but it’s trying to get to the root of the problem in her opinion on a clock that’s quickly expiring.

“I am tough with them because I am running a life or death intervention on a ticking clock where my contestants might get sent home at any given moment,” said Michaels.  “I need them to realize as quickly as possible what they have contributed to their current circumstance, why they have done so and most importantly that they are strong enough and smart enough [to] change their lives to find health and happiness.”

While Michaels is hoping to accomplish many things with the show, she said the most important aspect is “to connect directly with the audience and engage in a two way dialogue that allows me to truly answer their questions be helpful in the most effective way possible. My goal is to not just motivate, but most importantly educate and empower people so they leave my show knowing that they are equally deserving and capable of transforming any aspect of their lives that they choose to at any point that they choose to do so.”

As a trainer, Michaels breaks through many of the common misconceptions about dieting, such as avoiding all temptation but instead practicing an 80/20 rule where 80% of your daily calorie allowance comes from healthy foods and 20% from “treat” foods so you’re not feeling deprived. Additionally, Michaels has built part of her show on breaking down the myth that eating healthy isn’t affordable.

“I do have a part in my show where I show people how easy it is to save money on healthy foods and reprioritize their daily spending to find anywhere from $20 to $100 extra dollars a week to go towards groceries.”
