SPEAK OUT: How Do You Feel About Canonsburg Fourth of July Parade Being Downsized

After complaints that the Canonsburg Fourth of July parade being too long, and organizers have said that prompted a decision to scale it back this year.

Formerly, politicians including state representatives, state senators, and more either walked or rode along the parade route in cars and floats.

But according to the Observer-Reporter, that won't be the case this year. The paper is reporting that the only politicians allowed in the parade are members of borough council.

The paper has also reported that no fire trucks other than those in the immediate Canonsburg area will be invited.

Fourth of July Committee Chairwoman Mary Maslanik could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday morning.
