Rep. White Sends Letter to DEP Secretary Krancer with Concerns and Questions

This is a copy of the letter I sent to DEP Secretary Krancer addressing the unanswered concerns about water quality testing issues near Marcellus Shale drilling sites in Pennsylvania. Rather than engage in a meaningless exchange of non-answers, I have asked ten specific questions for the Secretary to answer.

I want to be clear about this. Anyone who favors responsible development of Marcellus Shale should be demanding the highest levels of transparency and accountability from the DEP. Without a strong and fair DEP, the Marcellus boom will not have the long-term sustainability needed to generate the long-term goals of energy independence and economic benefits for the region.
