The Spa In The Hollow

So here I was, an 81 year-old man with Vitiligo wondering if I had come to the right place seeking help.

Vitiligo is a skin condition that results in white blotches appearing on various parts of he body and never again returning to a natural color.  Sun tanning is not only ineffective, but also dangerous, because the discolored skin has no protection against the rays of the sun. 

I had read that spray tanning could be advantageous by coloring the white blotches and resulting in a normal looking skin.  I saw a story in the Canon-McMillan Patch about a place in Peters Township, known as The Spa In The Hollow, that offers a complete Spa service, including spray tanning.

I called the Spa and made an appointment for a spray tanning session on my arms, just to test the procedure.  When I arrived at the location, I found a colorful entrance featuring an abundance of flowers, a beautiful waterfall, and a quaint gazebo.

Once inside the building I was met by Cindy, who with her daughter Jennifer, is a co-owner. The mother-daughter team recently puchased the Spa and have updated and remodeled the interior, resulting is a warm, relaxing atmosphere.  The Spa offers a myrid of services and a call to 724-969-0993 will give you a complete listing.

Cindy took me into a booth and spray tanned both of my arms and the result was pleasing.  I will return to repeat the process whenever the tanning fades.

I imagine that the Spa caters mostly to the feminine sex, and for a little while I felt out of place.  But all of the ladies working there were  very kind to me, helping me to get over the feeling of "What's an old guy like me doing in a nice place like this."  They made me feel so welcome that I even had a pedicure, only the third one in my 81 years.  I am telling all of my friends and family about The Spa In The Hollow, one of Peters Township's best kept secrets.
