Obit: Ronald Carr, Formerly of Canonsburg

Ronald Carr, 70, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 in the Donnell House surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 25, 1942 in Sewickley, a son of the late John Carr and Oma Bowman Ross. Ron attended Canon McMillan schools and served with the United States Army during the Viet Nam Era.

He lived in Washington for the past nine years and was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church.

Prior to retirement, he was a cement mason and member of the Cement Mason Union Local 526. He also was a member of VFW Post 553, where he served as an officer. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Puchi Carr, two sons, Doug Anthony Carr of Houston, and Michael Carr of West Virginia, one daughter, Lisa Marie Schultz (William) of Washington, two brothers, Jack Carr of West Palm Beach, Florida and Richard Carr of Canonsburg, three sisters, Sonia Beber of McMurray, Dorothy Kouche and Carol Forish, both of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren Nicholas Cox, and Noah Angelo Neil-Carr, several nieces and nephews,.

Friends were received Sunday from 2 p.m.Β to 8 p.m. at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Reverend Robert Neal, Pastor Glenn Street Free Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 with full military rites accorded by the combined honor guards of VFW Post 191 and American Legion Post 902.
