Obituary: Albert B. 'Dino' Parascenzo, 78, of Canonsburg

Albert B."Dino" Parascenzo, 78, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 in Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Alberto and Virginia Butti Parascenzo.

He was a graduate of Canonsburg High School in 1952 and a member of Saint Patrick Church and the Muse Italian Club where he served as an officer.

He had also served with the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a loan officer for Mellon Bank and was currently employed by Northwest Consumer Discount as a loan officer.

Surviving are wife, Carol Schmidt Parascenzo; five daughters, Carina Luwisch (David) of Los Angeles, California, Michelle Haywood of Claysville, Dina Boyle (James) of Canonsburg, Marcy VonScio (Kevin) of Washington, and Paula Gesselberty (Francis) of McMurray; one brother, Raldo Parascenzo of Canonsburg; eight grandchildren, Carlie and Emily Haywood, Elizabeth and Joshua Gesselberty, Tonia Boyle, Drew and Kyle VonScio and Seth Luwisch and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is one sister, Savina Mazzotta. Visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 E. College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where departing prayers will be at 9:30 am Friday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven cemetery, McMurray.
