Obituary: Betty R. Fullgraf

April 27, 1924 - Jan. 5, 2013

Betty R. Shaw Fullgraf, 88, of Cecil Township, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 in her home.

She was born April 27, 1924 in Carrick, a daughter of the late Edward and Carrie Rice Shaw. Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in primary presidency, relief society presidency and treasurer of Washington Ward. She was a foster parent for 13 years and cared for nine foster children. She was a homemaker and, prior to retirement, worked as a clerk for the 5 & 10 Store.

Her husband, William F. Fullgraf, Jr. died Sept. 3, 2011.

Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Stevens (William) of Portsmouth, Virginia, Debra Lyle (Gary) of Cecil, and Quinn Black of Fredericksburg, VA, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Fullgraf, sister-in-law, Sylvia Shaw, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Keith W. Fullgraf, four brothers, Edward Donald, Robert, James and Thomas Shaw, two sisters, Mildred Ferricks, and Lucretia Gorfi, one grandchild, Zachariah Black.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 E. College St., Canonsburg. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Fairway Drive, Washington, when services will be held. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
