Obituary: James (Binx) Kern, 80, of Canonsburg

James E. (Binx) Kern, 80 of Canonsburg, died Sunday Aug. 4, 2013 in Golden Living of South Hills, following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 24, 1933 in Strabane a son of the late Joseph and Mary Per Kern Sr.
Mr. Kern had been employed at the former RCA plants in both Canonsburg and Meadowlands and prior to his retirement was employed in the shipping department at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg.
He had attended Trinity High School and had been a coach for youth football.
Mr. Kern lived his life in the Strabane and Canonsburg areas, where he was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.
He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the SNPJ lodge 138 and the KSKJ St. Jerome Lodge 153 both of Strabane and the Labor Temple of Canonsburg.
