Obituary: Stanley S. Balazy, 77, Marine Formerly of Canonsburg Area

Stanley S. Balazy age 77 of Burgettstown, formerly of Houston and Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 in Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1936 in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Stanley A. and Alice Negle Balazy.
Mr. Balazy served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal.
He lived most of his life in the Houston and Canonsburg areas, but for the last year and a half lived in Burgettstown.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 553 of Strabane and the American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
Mr. Balazy enjoyed fishing, in his earlier years working on and entering stock car races which he won several of, but what he enjoyed most in later years was spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events.
