Obituary: William R. Smoke, of Canonsburg

William R. Smoke, 96, of Canonsburg, died Friday, July 5, 2013 in Consulate Health Care.

He was born June 19, 1917 in Canonsburg, a son of Joseph and Josephine Mancini Smoke. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Smoke worked as an auditor for Alcoa Corp. He was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, where he was a member and past secretary of Canonsburg Sportsman's Club.

Surviving are wife, Ann Mandus Smoke, of North Strabane; one son, Joseph Smoke, and his wife, Susan of New York, three daughters, Dolores Brincko of Upper Saint Clair; Debra Bruner, and her husband, Kurt, of Peters Twp.; and Evonne Somsky, and her husband John, of Canonsburg; a stepson Clayton McCabe and wife Carol of Mechanicsburg, one brother; Mario Smoke of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Terri; Tammy; Kimberly; and Clayton; four step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Patsy Smoke. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. A memorial services will be held at the Sollon Funeral Home, with Pastor Jack Wilson, officiating at time and date to be announced.
