Alien Removed Five Times From U.S. Sentenced to Jail

A resident of Mexico found in Washington County pleaded guilty to violating federal immigration laws this week.

A resident of Mexico pleaded guilty and has been sentenced in federal court to eight months incarceration followed by one year supervised release on his conviction of violating federal immigration laws, U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton announced this week.

Senior U.S District Judge Maurice B. Cohill imposed the sentence on Emir
Castano-Lopez, 24, of Mexico.

According to information presented to the court, on July 7, 2012, Castano-Lopez was found in Washington County after having unlawfully re-entered the United States following removal on or about July 26, 2007.

The defendant had been previously removed from the United States on five prior occasions.
