Blotter: Canonsburg Man Jumped, DUI Charged, Criminal Mischief Reported

A Canonsburg man was charged with driving under the influence after police noted him driving a scooter on both sides of the roadway around 2:18 a.m. Monday.

Police said Corwin F. Riedel, of North Central, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

A breath test administered indicated Riedel had a blood alcohol content of .133 percent.

Man Cited for Having Open Beer Can in Car
Canonsburg police charged a borough man with having an open container after an incident in the PNC parking lot on Monday.

Police said they noted that a silver Kia had been sitting in the PNC parking lot with its headlights on for an extended period of time.

When officers approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, Reed M. Morrow, they noticed an open can of Coors Lite in the center console.

Officers removed and emptied the can, which was nearly full, in the parking lot.

The citation will proceed by summons.

One Transported to Canonsburg General Hospital Following Crash
One person was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital after a two-vehicle crash that happened near the parking lot of Sollon Pharmacy.

Canonsburg police, which did not provide the names of those involved, said a vehicle turning into the store parking lot was rear-ended.

Pool Reportedly Punctured
Erica Serbak told Canonsburg police on Sunday morning that someone entered the back yard of her 330 Euclid Ave. home sometime Saturday night and punctured her pool.

Police said the puncture mark was about 2 inches long, and that it appeared as though it was done intentionally.

Car Keyed
Carol A. Martinez of 192 Greenside Ave. told Canonsburg police on Sunday afternoon that someone had keyed her car.

Police said the whole driver's side door had been extensively scratched.

Martinez said she believed the damage was done sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Water Main Break Reported
A water main break was reported on Duquesne Avenue around 4:20 a.m. Saturday. Pennsylvania American Water was notified.

Man Reportedly Jumped
The mother of James Russell, of 250 N. Central, told Canonsburg police that he was jumped while walking home on West Pitt Street Thursday. She told police that two males approached him—one of whom struck Russell in the face twice.
