DUI to be Charged

A Cecil Township woman will be charged with DUI after officers reportedly saw her weaving in and out of traffic on Monday night.

Police said Margaret E. McFalls was traveling south on state Route 980 near Coleman Road when officers noticed her weaving in and out of traffic, crossing the double yellow line.

When stopped near Morganza Road, McFalls admitted to officers that she had consumed a glass of wine and two beers that evening.

Officers said they noted the odor of alcohol emanating from McFalls, and that her speech was slurred and her eyes were glassy and bloodshot.

A field sobriety test was conducted, at which time the woman showed signs of impairment, police said.

McFalls was placed under arrest for being incapable of safe driving and suspicion of driving under the influence. She was transported to the Cecil Township Police Department, where a breath-test showed she had a blood-alcohol content of .173 percent.

Charges will proceed by summons, police said.
