Blotter: Medications Reported Stolen From Personal Care Home

Canonsburg police are investigating several incidents.

The manager of Rest Haven Personal Care Home, located at 122 Valley Road, on Saturday told that someone had stolen medication from the facility.

The manager told police that while all medications are under lock and key, all staff members have access to them.

She said she noted that three Hydrocodone pills were missing earlier in the week but did not report the incident to police until she noticed more missing Saturday. That missing medication included six Hydrocodone pills as well as 12 packs of various medications—ones she said were mostly narcotic pain killers, according to a police report.

Tree Blocked Roadway

Canonsburg police were called to 609 Weavertown Road on Sunday morning for a report of a tree blocking the roadway there.

Upon arrival, police noted that a cherry tree was completely obstructing the road. That area of Weavertown Road remained closed for about 40 minutes until the borough was able to remove it.

Damage to Car Reported

Matthew Wagner, of 674 Venetia Road, Venetia, told police on Saturday that someone “poured some type of tar-like substance all over the hood, windshield, and right side of his vehicle” as it was parked at his girlfriend’s 423 Duquesne Ave. residence Friday night.

Police are investigating.

Resident Complains about Abandoned House

Robert Vingiquerra, of 523 Park Ave. on Thursday afternoon made a complaint about an abandoned house next to his.

He told police that “there are kids going in and out of this house at all hours of the day and night and his main concern is a fire occurring.”

Vingiquerra said kids have been seen on his property—even in his basement—and that they had even broken into his outdoor spa.

He requested extra patrols in the area.
