Blotter: Pedestrian Hit By Car; Purse Reported Stolen

Here are some of the incidents Canonsburg police investigated recently.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Canonsburg Saturday afternoon and taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.

Canonsburg police said witnesses told officers they observed Cynthia Ranson enter the crosswalk at Pike and North Central, when a vehicle driven by Gene Watts made a turn and struck her.

Watts told police he was looking for oncoming traffic and did not see Ranson crossing the street, police said.

Ranson complained of pain to her back, neck and legs, according to a police report.

The extent of her injuries was not clear Monday.

Purse Reported Stolen

Susan Ann Moyers, of 17 Smith St., told Canonsburg police on Sunday that her purse had been stolen the night before while she was at Otto’s Pub on West Pike Street. She said she left the establishment just after midnight Sunday.

Moyers told police the purse contained a wallet, license, two bank cards and about $5 in cash.
