UPDATED: Canon-Mac Parents Alerted After Children Approached

Letters were sent home with students on Tuesday alerting them to an incident on Vine Street in Canonsburg where two children were allegedly approached by an older male.

Canon-McMillan School District is asking parents to be extra careful in the wake of an incident on Vine Street in Monday.

A letter was sent home to parents Tuesday indicating that a man described as an older white male driving a green truck approached two students.

He reportedly asked the children for assistance with something inside his vehicle.

My child ATTENDS First Street Elementary and we DID NOT receive a letter about this incident! Very disappointed to have to read about it here first!

My child also attends First Street Elementary and she DID receive a letter. We also received a call via their emergency phone system.

My children attend Cecil Elementary and we did not get a letter.
