Canonsburg Man Charged with Indecent Assault

Jeffrey Amand was briefly remanded to the Washington County Jail.

A Canonsburg man was briefly remanded to the Washington County Jail after police said he grabbed a woman in a “sexual manner” at McGrogan’s Tap Room Wednesday night.

charged Jeffrey Amand, 24, with aggravated indecent assault—a felony—indecent assault and harassment.

The victim said the alleged assault happened as she was leaving the bar and attempted to give Amand—someone she said she knew from school and had run into at the bar—a good-bye hug.

Amand was arraigned before district Judge Joshua Kanalis, who set a $10,000 bond, which the man later posted.

Amand is scheduled to appear before district at 10:30 a.m. July 26 for a preliminary hearing.
