A South Carolina man is in Washington County Jail after Canonsburg police charged him with a slew crimes—including aggravated indecent assualt of a child.
The charges against William Strauch, 49, of Bluffington, S.C., include indecent exposure, three counts of indecent assault of someone younger than 16, two counts of corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault against someone younger than 13, and three counts of indecent assault against a person younger than 13, according to online court records.
While the charges were filed on Aug. 27, and the offenses date back to April 28, 1998, Strauch was arraigned Thursday before district Judge David Mark, who remanded him to the Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Strauch was still listed as an inmate there as of Friday morning.
He is scheduled to appear before Mark at 11:25 a.m. Thursday for a preliminary hearing, court records show.
The charges stem from accusations from two females who told police he exposed himself to them when they were around the ages of 4 and 10, respectively, according the Observer-Reporter newspaper.
