Canton Man Jailed for DUI

Luke Hutto will appear before district Judge Jay Weller for a preliminary hearing Oct. 31.

A Canton man was arraigned earlier this week on two charges of driving under the influence, a count of failing to stop at the scene of a traffic accident and several traffic offenses filed by state police—all of which stem from an April 20 incident, online court records show.

Luke Hutto, was arraigned Monday before district Judge Jay Weller, who remanded him to the Washington County Jail after he was unable to post a $25,000 bond.

He remained an inmate there as of Thursday morning, according to the Washington County Jail website.

The Observer-Reporter indicates the charges step from a hit-and-run crash that happened this past April on Interstate 79—an incident that ended in a traffic stop in North Strabane Township.

Hutto is scheduled to appear before Weller Oct. 31 for a preliminary hearing.
