Cecil Resident Jailed After Allegedly Shooting Man

A Cecil Township man was jailed Sunday after police said he shot at another township resident Saturday, causing him to seek treatment at a local hospital.

Cecil Township police charged Tyrone Lett, 44, of Raven Drive, with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, simple assault, disorderly conduct and criminal attempt following the alleged incident.

According to a criminal affidavit, police were summoned to Canonsburg General Hospital Saturday for a report of a man seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

A man identified as Richard Reed told police he received a call from his niece stating that someone wanted to speak with him.

The criminal complaint indicated the pair had been arguing over a family issue.

Hours later Reed said he received a call from a man asking to meet first at the Henderson baseball field. Reed was called later and the man amended the location to be Raven Drive.

Reed, along with his brother, then drove to Raven, and exited the vehicle near a known residence.

That's when Reed told police he was shot at.

Through an investigation, Cecil police identified Lett as the alleged gunman.

He was taken into custody without incident early Sunday.

Police recovered a shotgun an a spent casing and live shell from beneath his balcony.

Left was arraigned Sunday afternoon by district Judge Valarie Coatanzo and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $200,000 bond.

He remained in jail Monday.
